Credit Investment Research - VP or Director

Our client is seeking an experienced VP or Director to join their growing team of investment professionals. This position will support the firm's advisory business and credit research team. The ideal candidate will have strong investment acumen and research experience with an understanding of manager research ideally in the private credit space. The candidate will be responsible for taking a leadership role in the manager due diligence process and other research related projects and tasks that support both the firm's advisory business and investment management business. This position is onsite out of the firm's Los Angeles office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leading manager research and due diligence for funds in support of the firm's investment advisory business.
2. Lead credit research projects such as market mapping, performance comparisons, fee comparisons, and other topical research.
3. Prepare client deliverables such as amendment recommendations and annual meeting summaries.
4. Oversee and maintain the firm's manager databases.
5. Assist in monitoring existing and new fund investments.
6. Travel may be required to attend conferences, annual meetings, and other industry events as needed.
7. Present recommendations to the firm's clients and the firm's internal investment committees.

Qualifications

1. Undergraduate degree in finance or economics required.
2. Advanced degree such as MBA or JD a plus.
3. CFA or CAIA designation a plus.
4. Ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years experience.
5. Excellent communication skills is a must.
6. The position is located in the firm's Los Angeles office.
