Description:

Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Trust Officer position in Reno, Nevada. This role is with a single-family office that provides a diverse array of services, including tax, accounting, investment, fiduciary and general services to a multi-generational family with controlling holdings in a publicly traded corporation. The wholly owned trust company is located in Reno, NV. The Trust & Compliance Officer position is located in Reno and will assist with all aspects of trust administration and compliance requirements. This position will report to the Vice President of Compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate closely with other company departments (Client Service, Operations, Wealth Management, Tax and Philanthropy) regarding client matters involving trust and agency account administration.
  • Monitor the fiduciary administration of trust company accounts to ensure compliance with governing documents and applicable laws.
  • Assist in the process of opening and closing of trust company accounts.
  • Prepare complex and professional reports using various systems and data sources.
  • Prepare materials and assist in administration of meetings of the internal committees overseeing operations.
  • Assist in the oversight of ongoing trust company operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing for all relevant regulatory examinations.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Management Team.


Qualifications

  • Strong background in financial services, compliance, or financial operations
  • Minimum 5 years of financial services
  • Bachelor's degree with superior academic credentials from a nationally-recognized university.
  • Industry certification, such as CTFA, CFP, JD or CPA, is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of trust and agency account administration, including estate planning, fiduciary accounting, securities, real estate, finance, and taxation.
  • Working knowledge of the legal documents encountered in trusts, estate planning and finance, including trust agreements, deeds, powers of appointment, powers of attorney, assignments, partnership agreements and LLC operating agreements.
  • Working knowledge of the legal requirements that impact trusts.
  • Ability to work successfully with others at all levels of the organization to implement policies, procedures and solutions from a practical perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment, with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organized and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-start and work independently, and the desire and ability to work remotely with a highly motivated team.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and Power Point and other technology.
