Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its collaborative team in Irvine, CA. This individual will play a key role in planning and executing field investigations, monitoring foundation and earthwork construction, identifying and implementing field and lab work solutions, and preparing logs and reports. The role offers the opportunity to analyze geotechnical engineering problems and assist in preparing reports on large-scale, high-profile projects.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data.
  2. Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities; monitor conformance with construction documents.
  3. Identify and implement solutions to routine and complex field and laboratory problems.
  4. Prepare logs and field forms, including drilling logs, test pit logs, investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs.
  5. Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches.
  6. Document and communicate project site issues with supervisors.
  7. Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  2. 1+ years of relevant experience.
  3. Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  4. EIT Certification or current registration for FE exam.
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Strong attention to detail, analytical, multitasking, and judgment skills.
  7. Willingness to spend most work hours in the field.
  8. Ability to work independently and in teams.
  9. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Our estimated salary range for this role is: $68,640 - $88,500. Actual compensation varies based on experience, education, location, and other factors. Employees are eligible for overtime, bonuses, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
