Job Overview

This role involves leading evaluation, selection, and design of transportation systems, generating conceptual designs and construction documents, and collaborating with teams and clients. The focus is on innovative solutions aligned with client objectives and best practices from organizations like NACTO. Responsibilities include project management, overseeing tasks, and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing engineering and planning studies
• Performing fieldwork and supporting construction
• Preparing conceptual designs, plans, specifications, and estimates
• Managing client interactions and community engagement
• Marketing and developing new projects
• Mentoring colleagues and receiving mentorship

Qualifications

• 3-8 years in transportation engineering
• Bachelor's or master's in relevant fields
• PE license or plan to obtain
• Experience with Caltrans, MUTCD, AASHTO standards
• Experience with signing, striping, traffic signals
• Knowledge of mobility issues and safety measures
• Proposal leadership and client relationship skills
• Interest in mentoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification
• Community engagement passion
• Quick-build project experience
• Active transportation and safety planning
