About the Job

This role involves managing and guiding efforts to drive positive change within the facility, including the development and upskilling of 400+ associates. The focus areas include training, implementing the GSF-defined improvement process, sustainability, and job-specific training. The manager will ensure appropriate measurement systems are developed and implemented to create benchmarks and targets, develop plans, and take actions to meet or exceed goals.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  1. Lead and collaborate with the Human Resources Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager to develop and execute plant continuous improvement policies, strategies, and targets.
  2. Assist in developing and executing strategic plans for associate training and development, including operator learning guides, new hire orientation, and CI processes.
  3. Audit operational procedures and programs regularly to ensure training materials are current and effective.
  4. Communicate with management and employees, providing relevant reports and analysis to support decision-making related to continuous improvement and training.
  5. Facilitate teams in identifying opportunities, developing, and implementing corrective actions to improve productivity, cost, quality, delivery, safety, and morale.
  6. Develop and deliver training sessions and documentation.
  7. Facilitate employee training in current methods related to machinery, manufacturing, process systems, and quality standards.
  8. Oversee the creation and maintenance of operational procedures and training materials, ensuring completion.
  9. Lead continuous improvement activities, including GPS initiatives.
  10. Manage data collection, interpretation, and communication using tools like Loss Tree and Informance.
  11. Work overtime and flexible schedules as needed to meet plant objectives.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, food science, or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred).
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, safety, training, or CI.
  • Previous experience in training and facilitation.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Informance, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and present clearly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently for extended periods.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset with hands-on leadership experience.
  • Ability to lead facilitative processes and hold others accountable.
  • Coaching and delegation skills.
