Position Information

The UCR School of Medicine is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Operations Manager to join the Student Affairs Department. The successful candidate will serve as a key financial and administrative leader within the department, managing day-to-day financial operations, overseeing procurement, travel, HR coordination, and supporting departmental planning efforts. This position plays a critical role in maintaining internal controls and compliance with university policies, while supporting long-term budget development and operational strategies. The incumbent will work closely with the unit's Finance & Administrative Officer (FAO), and in their absence, will represent the unit in meetings and provide leadership continuity. This position is ideal for a seasoned financial professional with strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. This position will be fully onsite during the six-month probationary period, then will transition to a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite / 2 days remote. The full salary range for the Financial Operations Manager is $73,600 - $133,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $103,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

  • Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
