Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of the Firebirds Hockey Marketing team this position Directs all aspects of the Firebirds Mascot Program. The Director of the Mascot Program will also supervise the scheduling of multiple part time performing Firebirds Mascots. Will manage the schedule of performance events and evaluate the success of the performances of the Macots for the AHL Firebirds Team.

This role will pay a salary of $95,000 to $100,000 and is bonus eligible.

This position will remain open until September 5th, 2025.

Responsibilities

The Director of the Mascot Program for the AHL Firebirds will be accountable for the seamless execution of the Performance Program while providing exceptional levels of client customer service, maintaining a high level of engagement, and building relationships with the AHL Firebirds Hockey Team and community partners. This position is critically responsible for managing multiple part time entertainment mascots for the Firebirds and the delivery of an above and beyond excellent entertainment experience in conjunction with the games.

Qualifications

  • Five to Seven plus (5- 7) years of increasingly responsible experience in Event Sports Entertainment Management and as a Mascot or Actor/Performance Artist
  • Ability to manage and direct all aspects of multiple part time mascot performers
  • Experience of managing in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility setting
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with major coursework in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, word processing, and Internet
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid drivers' license
  • Knowledge of operational characteristics of events
  • Ability to identify the needs of users of the facility
  • Knowledge of crowd management and control techniques
  • Knowledge of customer service practices
  • Knowledge of principles of supervision, scheduling, and training employees
  • Demonstrated familiarity with facility use contracts
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Knowledge of A/V equipment and electronic systems in public assembly facilities
  • Experience with budget preparation and control
  • Familiarity with terminology used in entertainment/convention/public assembly settings
  • Experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not required
