Description
Comply with all Federal, State, Local, County, and Navy environmental laws, policies, and regulations. Assist in establishing guidelines to protect the health and safety of employees and the community by minimizing/eliminating the risk of environmental pollution. Serve as the contractor point of contact for the collection of Contractor-generated Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE), preparation for shipping (e.g., palletizing), and all supporting documentation for the disposal of Contractor-generated HAZWASTE in support of the Daily Flight Schedule.
Promote worksite or product safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and industrial health and safety laws. Includes industrial product safety engineers.
Education
BA/BS from an accredited college or university in engineering, business, logistics, management, math, sciences, or professional aeronautics with 4+ years of experience in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy requirements; or AA/AS with 6+ years of relevant experience; or high school diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Experience
Minimum of six years of recent practical experience in managing, administering, or operating a safety and occupational health program, or related administrative safety work. Additionally, at least two years in managing hazardous materials/waste programs within the last four years, including handling, storage, and disposal. One year of experience in planning, organizing, and evaluating a HAZMAT program for an entire command.
Capabilities/Skills
Knowledge of aviation ground safety and management. Familiarity with safety and occupational health principles, standards, and regulations at Federal, DoD, State, and Local levels. Valid driver's license required.
