CLIENT PARTNER PROFILE & VALUE PROPOSITION: Leapros has been engaged by a premier fresh produce and solutions provider in the Inland Empire to fill a Controller position. This role is 100% onsite and reports directly to the GM.

POSITION TITLE: Controller

POSITION SUMMARY: Manage, train, and supervise the accounting team members in processing payroll, payroll tax compliance, internal controls related to financial reporting, labor accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, project accounting, invoicing, cash receipts, fixed assets, inventory valuations, and corporate tax filing.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Prepares periodic financial reports; ensures that the results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
• Provides financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Performs inventory valuations and assists in cycle counts and full inventory counts
• Assists and provides accounting support for Inventory Cycle Count projects and Cycle Count schedules to ensure inventory accuracy with no unplanned and non-communicated shortages
• Prepares and analyzes financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements and communicates financial results and insights to senior management and other stakeholders
• Ensures accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS)
• Provides insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making
• Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets
• Audits accounts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit as determined by executive management
• Oversees accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, payments, and vendor management
• Manages accounts receivable processes, including billing, collections, and credit control
• Manages all aspects of general ledger including analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Coordinates month-end and year-end closing processes
• Reconciles accounts and resolves discrepancies
• Supervises payroll processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll disbursements
• Administers and maintains employee payroll and PTO records and approvals
• Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year and working with tax advisors; files annual corporate tax return
• Participates in the design, function and upgrades to the ERP/MRP system
• Manages and directs the daily operations and all activities of the accounting department personnel, including developing and mentoring accounting staff and completing employee performance reviews

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years proficiency using software tools such as ERP, MRP, Famous Software knowledge is a plus
• 3 – 5 years as an Controller with managerial and supervisory experience
• 3 years tax preparation and compliance
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Certification preferred
• B.S. in Accounting or Finance
• Must be bilingual in Spanish
• Leads by example – demonstrates exceptional leadership traits and has excellent people skills
• Diligent worker who is a self-starter and proactive – works well with no supervision
• Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Strong technical skills
• Computer Systems - knowledge and proficiency in MRP/ERP systems, WMS, RFID systems, and operate Microsoft Office and related software to communicate, perform analysis and report information as required
• Analytical ability to gather, document, and summarize data and solve problems

PAY TRANSPARENCY: A reasonable estimate of the available {annual or hourly} pay scale for this position is: $130,000 per year. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
