The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for producing financial reports and analysis to support company business and specific departmental needs.

Wages

The starting wage for the Senior Financial Analyst will depend on experience and education, ranging from $82,482 to $123,442.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities for the Senior Financial Analyst include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Prepare financial reports accurately and timely, including monthly reports (Finance & Administration Expenses vs. budget and prior year, bank fee analysis, captive insurance accounting, rental contract signature stats, dividend summary, unapplied credits, Accounting Dept. dashboard, company headcount report) and annual reports (CAT dealer principal forms, Retirement Plan Fee Analysis).
  2. Assist with developing a monthly branch income statement analysis “template” and prepare analyses for branches.
  3. Create ad-hoc financial analyses to interpret complex business results in an understandable manner.
  4. Assist the Manager of Financial Reporting and Analysis with the annual budget preparation.
  5. Provide backup for the Manager by preparing the monthly Senior Management Financial Package, Branch Trend Graphs, and manually running Cognos Sales Flash.
  6. Assist in improving the accuracy of accounting results through report creation and enhancement.
  7. Support management in developing the financial function.
  8. Maintain current knowledge of accounting-related technology systems used in the company.
  9. Provide guidance and advice to other accounting personnel and management.
  10. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred. Five to ten years of relevant finance and/or accounting experience required. Strong Excel skills are essential; SQL experience is a plus.

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community. Capable of presenting information clearly to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors.

Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions is required.

Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting complex instructions and working independently to meet deadlines.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently sit; occasionally stand and walk. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment

Standard office environment with climate control. Noise level is usually moderate.
