Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the accounting team will responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring financial statements accuracy, and a key leader on the accounting team. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and in a timely manner.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Month End Close: Manage and oversee monthly financial close
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the budgeting process, including forecasting financial performance and analyzing variances.
  • Audit Preparation: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation, processes, and controls are in place.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee and manage bi-monthly payroll processing
  • Commissions: Review and oversee management, reporting, communication, and payment of monthly commissions
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and provide insights into the financial health of the organization.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting department.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with other departments and senior management to provide financial insights and support business strategies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. preferred CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably within the insurance brokerage industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (EPIC), financial reporting dashboards, (Power BI)
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
