Position Information

The position needs a person with a BS in a biology-related subject and with/without previous lab experience, knowledge and skills. The PI will provide a formal training in these aspects. The person need to spend 90% time in hand-performing basic molecular and genetic experiments including PCR, genotyping, protein purification, RNA/DNA purification, genetic crosses, western blot, northern blot, southern blot, reverse transcription, microinjection, etc., based on available protocols and reagents in the lab. The other 10% time is spent on training undergraduate and high school students to learn some of these techniques and lab management including reagent organization/registration, freezer thawing, lab sanitation, etc. The full salary range for the Staff Research Associate 1 position is $26.78 - $31.97 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $26.78 - $26.82 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational need Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
