Vice President of Strategy

Description:

The position is a key leader in the Corporate Strategy team, reporting to the SVP, Corporate Strategy & Development. The role involves coordinating and managing the firm's strategic planning process, leading corporate strategy projects, and overseeing the competitive intelligence and management reporting teams.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the annual strategic planning cycle, including updates to the long-term corporate strategic plan, facilitating executive planning sessions, building cross-enterprise consensus, developing communications and presentations, managing projects, and articulating strategic concepts to diverse business partners.
  2. Serving as the leader on corporate-level strategic projects and supporting Board and executive meetings.
  3. Guiding the competitive intelligence function to provide timely, actionable analysis on industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  4. Building strong relationships with regulatory, risk, and audit partners, participating in meetings and exams, and discussing regulatory aspects of strategy reporting.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate strategy, including research, strategy, and consulting.
  • Proven success in managing and leading teams of strategy and development professionals within financial services.
  • Ability to build and execute strategic plans across a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Experience in a complex, matrix management environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable with senior and large audiences.
  • Leadership qualities that foster followership and build high-performing, diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Client-focused, intellectually curious, and knowledgeable about financial services.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, especially with senior executives, and the ability to align organizational objectives.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and capable of distilling complex inputs into actionable decisions.
  • Experience consulting at all management levels and collaborating across organizational silos.
  • Inspirational leadership willing to advocate for innovative ideas and take calculated risks.
  • Proficient in talent assessment, development, and providing constructive feedback.
  • High emotional intelligence, maturity, and executive presence.
  • Bachelor's degree and MBA or equivalent experience.
