Position Information

This position is uniquely designed to bridge academic support with strategic campus-wide outreach, focusing on promoting global education and enhancing student success across diverse academic and co-curricular environments. The role requires proactive engagement with academic departments, student organizations, athletics, student centers, residential life and other campus key stakeholders to foster a culture that values international education and prepares students for global citizenship. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in connecting students with tailored academic resources, mentorship, and transition support to build confidence and resilience at each stage of their academic journey. The position also emphasizes creating and nurturing partnerships across campus to ensure integrated support for students, specifically in advocating for and expanding participation in education abroad programs. A deep understanding of student needs, inclusive advising practices, and innovative program delivery will be essential for shaping a supportive and inclusive academic environment. This role contributes to the institution's goals of enhancing student retention, academic success, and intercultural competencies, supporting both domestic and international students in a comprehensive approach to their development and engagement in the campus community. The full salary range for this position is $56,000 - $96,400. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $56,000 - $76,000. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

  • Develops knowledge of current and theoretical models that influence the application and delivery of academic services (e.g., discipline specific; student-population specific).
  • Multicultural competencies; knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
  • Oral and written communication skills; interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate information in small and large group settings.
  • Proficient computer skills including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and web-based systems.

The Education Abroad Outreach Coordinator position is strategically designed to enhance student participation in education abroad opportunities at the University of California, Riverside (UCR), contributing significantly to the university's global outlook. The coordinator bridges student engagement with marketing, advertising, and outreach, focusing on increasing student numbers in study, intern, and non-credit programs.
