Director of Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering

Job Summary:

The Director of Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering manages both production processes and facility operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with business goals. This role involves overseeing maintenance/engineering staff, implementing improvement initiatives, and maintaining a safe, productive, and well-maintained facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing Operations:

Ensuring all production equipment is properly maintained by executing a TPM strategy that maximizes equipment uptime, reduces downtime, and reducing defects to ensure quality standards and productivity goals are met.

Overseeing building maintenance, utilities, and safety protocols, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • Project Management:

Leading engineering projects, including renovations, expansions, and new facility development.

  • Staff Management:

Supervising and developing engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.

  • Strategic Planning:

Working with Executive Operations Management in developing long-term plans for facility and equipment upgrades, as well as manufacturing capacity and processes.

Implementing Lean principles, optimizing workflows, and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

Ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards for manufacturing and facilities operations.

  • Budget Management:

Managing budgets for facilities maintenance, capital projects, and manufacturing operations.

Working with other departments, such as engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to achieve organizational goals.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education:

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, facilities engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience:

Extensive experience in manufacturing, facilities engineering, or a related field, with a strong track record of leadership and management.

  • Technical Skills:

Knowledge of engineering principles, automation, and manufacturing processes.

  • Leadership Skills:

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify and solve complex problems, both technical and operational.

  • Business Acumen:

Understanding of business processes, financial management, and strategic
