Position Summary:

Nelson Miller Group seeks a highly skilled and dynamic Site Operations Manager to lead operations in our City of Industry, CA location. This role will oversee the entire operational lifecycle, including strategic sourcing, light manufacturing, assembly, inventory management, and order fulfillment, people management and facilities management. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with strong manufacturing and supply chain experience, capable of driving efficiency, quality, and customer responsiveness across the operation. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Management

  • Develop sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and mitigate supply risk.
  • Oversee inventory control of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Ensure efficient inbound logistics and vendor delivery performance.

Light Manufacturing & Production Oversight

  • Direct and improve assembly, PCB/PCBA, HMI solutions, cable and harness manufacturing, RF device manufacturing, and related production processes.
  • Create and manage production schedules aligned with customer demand.
  • Optimize labor, materials, and equipment usage to reduce waste and maximize throughput.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Introduction

  • Partner with Sales to translate forecasts and customer needs into operational plans.
  • Work with Engineering on NPIs, ensuring manufacturability and smooth handoff to production.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to align production capacity and product availability.

Order Fulfillment & Logistics

  • Oversee order processing to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Manage outbound logistics for on-time shipment and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement expedited production and delivery solutions when needed.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Enforce rigorous quality standards across all operations.
  • Lead initiatives in Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, and NADCAP.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff to support career growth and performance.

Cost Management

  • Monitor operational costs and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Drive efficiencies in sourcing, production, and logistics without compromising quality.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations within a manufacturing environment (preferably electronic components or HMI products).
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally with Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of light manufacturing processes including assembly and PCB/PCBA.
  • Solid knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 etc.) and lean manufacturing.
  • Proven success in global sourcing and supplier management.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Adaptable to changing market and customer dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing international supply chains.
  • Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CSCP, or CPIM.
  • Lean Practitioner

Candidates being considered for hire must pass a pre-employment background check.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation: $120,000 plus 20% bonus opportunity based on performance for the organization. Pay to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data.
