Under the supervision of the Senior Safety Engineer (Elevators), the Associate Safety Engineer (Elevators) conducts safety inspections of conveyances. All work complies with policies, procedures, and laws.

Working Conditions

This job is located at:

DOSH San Jose Elevators Unit - 224 Airport Pkwy, Suite 350, San Jose, CA 95110.

  • Multiple applications may be needed for different locations or positions.
  • Driving within assigned areas to multiple sites daily.
  • Work sites may be indoors or outdoors, subject to noise and weather.
  • Access to multiple levels via vertical and ship ladders.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Communicating with the public about compliance issues related to conveyances.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, or kneeling.
  • Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Transporting up to 50 lbs. of equipment or materials.
  • Reaching above and below shoulder level.
  • Functional vision required.
