Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Deployable Principal Network Communications (Level 3) engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Aircraft Solutions organization. This role is located at Beale AFB, CA.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
  2. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  3. Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  4. Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  5. Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  6. Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  7. Design network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related military / professional experience OR a Master's degree and at least 3 years of related military / professional experience OR a Ph.D and at least 1 year of related military / professional experience.
  2. Willing and able to work a flexible schedule including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and support on-call status 24/7.
  3. Ability to meet medical requirements and pass a physical for worldwide travel.
  4. Valid U.S. passport.
  5. Ability to accept customer furnished quarters for up to 90 days and comply with mobility requirements.
  6. Active DoD Top Secret clearance and ability to maintain it.
  7. Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.

Salary Range: $95,800.00 - $143,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; actual offers depend on multiple factors including experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and bonuses.
