The Opportunity
The Medical Affairs Executive Director (MED) National Accounts is responsible for creating and driving a comprehensive medical strategy across national organizations, may include Payers, Federal Health Care Providers, Clinical Pathway Vendors, Large Integrated Care Delivery Networks, Channel Partners, Hospital, and Distribution customers. This role aims to optimize access and formulary positioning of Genentech products, improve patient outcomes, and elevate customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Deeply understand the unique medical needs of each customer to increase satisfaction, improve outcomes, and lower healthcare costs.
Define and implement strategic medical vision for defined National Accounts, identifying collaboration opportunities to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
Lead national field medical discussions, fostering awareness of objectives and strategy, and provide high-level scientific engagement across Genentech's portfolio.
Establish and manage senior stakeholder and C-suite relationships to understand needs and identify medical collaboration opportunities.
Identify and co-create solutions, research collaborations, health outcomes, and Real World Evidence (RWE) initiatives with National Accounts customers.
Act with an executive ownership mentality, track and enhance customer engagement, develop and monitor performance metrics, and foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Who you are
Required Qualifications & Experience
Advanced clinical science degree required (MD, PharmD, MsRPH, PhD, MSN, NP, PA, etc.)
10 + years related work experience with demonstrable evidence of successfully partnering with customers and achieving shared goals and outcomes
Developing and implementing strategy across complex healthcare environments with an ability to influence without authority and mobilize colleagues to action around shared goals
Ability to lead complex cross-functional account teams and operating under ambiguity without a set playbook, including aligning teams
Strong ability to lead, influence, and work in a matrixed environment regardless of reporting structure
Ongoing investment in developing self and others to enable others to achieve their potential, deliver ambitious goals or achieve excellence
Excellent understanding of external laws, codes and company policies that apply to the healthcare industry
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of managed care/health plan, hospital administration, clinical pathway or formulary decision maker, industry experience, etc.
Location and Travel Requirements
This is a field-based position. Must be willing to travel overnight to meet with customers, internal stakeholders, and attend relevant conferences up to 70% time.
The expected salary range for this position is $208,500.00 - 387,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
