ADMISSIONS DIRECTOR (Administrative)

Manage the admissions process efficiently to ensure a positive experience for residents, families, and staff. Plan, direct, and monitor the daily operations of the Admissions Department to meet budgeted resident census goals and ensure professional and efficient admission of residents. Responsible for admitting patients to the healthcare facility, screening patients against admission criteria, and completing necessary admission and financial responsibility forms.

Must be capable of planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and interpreting the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Sales and Marketing department. Collaborate with leaders of other facility departments to ensure timely communication and enhance the admissions experience for residents and families. Verify that insurance benefits meet standards of admission and coordinate physical, social, emotional, and support services, including transportation.

Gather applicant information through requests for completed applications and medical data, verify and clarify information, interview patients and family members, and explain admission criteria. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of facility services to educate referral sources as appropriate. Oversee bed assignments and complete preliminary paperwork for admissions.

Coordinate with the Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager to ensure the appropriateness of admissions. Maintain accurate records of bed availability and foster relationships with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners to maximize referrals. Attend daily stand-up meetings and be familiar with safety and emergency procedures, including Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill, and Evacuation Procedures.

Protect resident confidentiality and assist in outreach events such as health fairs and educational programs to attract hospital discharge planners, physicians, and other key contacts. Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge. This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications include at least a high school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field preferred. Two years of admissions experience is preferred; LVN or RN licensure is also preferred. Must have strong reading, writing, mathematical, and reasoning skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

The physical demands include occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds and prolonged use of a computer. The work environment is typically low to moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
