Responsibilities:

1. Perform duties of a billing specialist with a thorough understanding of the revenue cycle process.
2. Oversee customer accounts, generate invoices, collect payments, and update accounts to reflect changes.
3. Answer customer questions about billing and account status.
4. Identify and resolve billing and account errors or issues accurately.
5. Understand registration, referral, and preauthorization processes.
6. Communicate effectively with various insurance companies regarding revenue cycle matters.
7. Have strong knowledge of EOBs, patient insurance, and familiarity with multiple insurance carriers.
8. Review mail for insurance and patient payments.
9. Work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
10. Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet KPIs and other goals for the Revenue Cycle Team.
11. Have basic Excel skills for updating spreadsheets.
12. Perform rotating duties among multiple billers.
13. Post charges, CPT and ICD-10 codes, and use modifiers properly.
14. Download payments from portals and post them into patient accounts.
15. Research account denials and file appeals for resubmission or corrections.
16. Manage accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances.
17. Balance daily collections and postings.
