We're seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support a groundbreaking space technology program backed by one of the world's most innovative companies. In this role, you'll drive supplier quality efforts for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)—from defining requirements and qualifying EMS vendors to validating assembly processes, IPC compliance, and component-level traceability. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to shape and scale a Quality System aligned with AS9100/ISO9001 standards, influence design-for-manufacturability decisions, and ensure suppliers deliver highly reliable PCBAs as production ramps. THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

• Own and lead supplier quality management activities for PCBAs, including requirements definition, qualification, assembly process validation, receiving/source inspection, CAPA, metrics reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for PCBA defects, component failures, and process escapes.
• Guide product development teams on PCBA supplier selection, assessment, audit, and development decisions.
• Ensure supplier processes comply with IPC-A-600/610 and J-STD-001 standards for PCB and assembly quality.
• Partner cross-functionally to define and scale Quality Systems in compliance with AS9100 & ISO9001.
• Collaborate with design engineering teams to influence DFM/DFT (Design for Manufacturability/Testability) for PCBAs.
• Monitor and verify supplier controls for soldering, reflow, component placement, and test processes remain robust and repeatable.
• Analyze supplier performance data to identify trends and lead improvement initiatives.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

• Strong background in PCBA manufacturing processes, supplier management, and quality systems.
• Hands-on experience with PCBA inspection methods (e.g., AOI, ICT, X-ray, functional testing).
• Proven ability to build strong supplier relationships and drive accountability for consistent quality performance.
• Proven experience leading RCCAactivities to eliminate defects and prevent recurrence.
• Ability to evaluate complex manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and simplify technical issues into clear, actionable improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering to reduce defect rates and improve PCBA reliability.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience leading external audit teams
• R&D and NPI experience with PCBAs, especially in aerospace, medical device, or automotive industries.
• Experience with high-reliability electronics and mission-critical applications.
