Job Description Summary: We are seeking an experienced and versatile General Superintendent to oversee utility-scale solar construction project in Northern Nevada, with travel to other project sites in the future.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Leadership and Team Building:

  • Manage direct reports in all field areas and subcontractors, providing guidance, supervision, and support to ensure project success.
  • Recruit, organize, train, supervise, and coordinate the regional field construction team, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and quality.
  • Develop relationships with project owners, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and drive project objectives.
  • Team players with a strong work ethic and a passion for renewable energy.

Safety and Quality Assurance:

  • Enforce safety procedures and participate in the Safety Training Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure work quality by setting standards for quality control and conducting regular inspections and audits to verify adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Conduct constructability reviews of project designs and plans, collaborating with project teams to identify potential construction challenges and develop solutions.

Project Management and Coordination:

  • Oversee multiple projects over a large geographic area, assuming responsibility for their overall management and success.
  • Plan and communicate required support, including ordering materials and tools, organizing subcontractor meetings, and coordinating project logistics.
  • Review all drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals, and chair or attend pre-job conferences to ensure project readiness and alignment with project goals.

Estimating Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the estimating team to develop accurate project cost estimates and proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements and objectives.
  • Provide input and insights based on onsite observations and knowledge to support the estimating process and enhance cost competitiveness.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare necessary reports, including time sheets, work orders, daily reports, and invoice approvals, providing accurate and timely information to support decision-making.
  • Chair or attend regular subcontractor meetings, oversee punch list progress, and ensure timely completion of all project activities.
  • Provide regular progress reports to executive leadership, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Extensive field construction experience at supervisory level (Minimum 8 years as Superintendent)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and assume responsibility for their overall management and success.
  • Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for all trades)
  • Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting and cost control
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods, practices, regulations, and safety standards, including OSHA laws
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Experience conducting constructability reviews and coordinating with estimating teams to develop accurate project cost estimates.
  • Strong problem-solving and sense of urgency
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite, with scheduled time off every 3 weeks.

Compensation Range: $156,690.00 - $208,395.00
