Revenue Accounting Consultants (Operational & Technical)

Our client, a fast-growing AI research company focused on building safe and interpretable AI systems, is seeking Revenue Accounting Consultants to support both operational and technical revenue functions during a period of rapid expansion and transformation. These positions are 100% remote, with the option to work hybrid from their San Francisco office. These engagements have an initial duration of 3 months, with the potential to extend.

Responsibilities - Operational Revenue

• Manage daily revenue accounting operations and ensure ASC 606 compliance.
• Own month-end close processes for revenue, deferred revenue, and AR.
• Lead CECL aging analysis and AR metrics development.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic finance initiatives.
• Support revenue system implementations and audit coordination.

Responsibilities - Technical Revenue

• Draft ASC 606 technical accounting memos and revenue recognition assessments.
• Evaluate new product offerings and go-to-market strategies for revenue treatment.
• Advise stakeholders on complex revenue scenarios and pricing models.
• Maintain revenue recognition policies and lead technical research initiatives.
• Participate in system implementations and process improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting and ASC 606 expertise.
• Experience with NetSuite ARM or similar revenue recognition tools.
• Strong technical writing and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• CPA preferred; experience in SaaS, AI/ML, or high-growth tech companies is a plus.
