Summary

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and supervision of the Charge Nurse, provides continuous visual monitoring of assigned patients. Monitors patients and attempts to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors. Directs the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. Activates Stat Alarm when a patient is not following direction and/or situation is emergent.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers within ninety (90) days of employment
  • Completion of Hospital Specific Training regarding sitter and patient care duties within thirty (30) days of hire
