About the Role
The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients. Candidates must provide exceptional customer service while facilitating general appointment and escalation appointment scheduling. PAR will register new patients, review demographics for existing patients, insurance verification and answer general patient questions. PAR is also responsible for preparing patient messages to providers, triage, surgical scheduling and other internal departments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a positive patient experience and supporting accurate, timely access to the patients.
What You'll Be Doing
- Greets patients in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Handling inbound calls for a high-volume practice while working remotely
- Verifies and updates current insurance information, demographics with the Patient
- Register New Patients in EMR
- Accurately document patient requests/concerns in EMR (EPIC)
- Resolve patient inquiries and concerns and escalate emergent concerns appropriately and in a timely manner
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
What We Expect from You - High School Diploma
- Interact professionally and positively with all patients, colleagues, managers and executive team
- Exhibit a high degree of maturity, integrity, loyalty, creativity, and strict confidentiality with HIPPA compliance in all daily tasks.
- One year of experience working in a medical practice or in a health insurance organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior use of EMR systems preferred
- Demonstrates strong self-management skills in a remote work environment
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.

Salary Range:
$18.00 - $22.50 per hour
The compensation range listed reflects the anticipated base pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, and work location.
