Marketing Technical Writer

The Marketing Technical Writer bridges the gap between complex technical information and compelling marketing content. This role combines the precision of technical writing with the creativity of marketing to produce clear, engaging, and visually appealing materials. The ideal candidate will develop data sheets, manuals, and a variety of marketing collateral, while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strong brand alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Content Creation - Develop high-impact marketing assets, including product application notes, blog posts, and website content.
  • Technical Content Translation - Translate technical specifications, API documentation, and input from Engineering and Product teams into clear, user-friendly language; focus on communicating benefits and practical applications to target audiences.
  • Content Enhancement - Collaborate with the VP of Marketing, Product Managers, and Sales teams to refine and improve existing product literature; ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across all communication channels.
  • Visual Content Development - Design or collaborate on diagrams, infographics, illustrations, videos, and other visual assets to simplify complex concepts; support the creation of marketing collateral such as brochures, posters, and web graphics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to gather accurate technical information; ensure all marketing claims are technically accurate, compliant, and aligned with product capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional Writing Skills: Ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive content tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Research & Interviewing: Strong ability to extract and synthesize information from cross-functional team and technical documentation.
  • Marketing knowledge: Understanding of branding, user experience, and effective communication of unique selling propositions.
  • Technical & Design Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign).
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and commitment to brand consistency.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree (AA) in Communications, English, Marketing, a technical field, or related discipline
  • Experience in technical writing, marketing writing, or a similar role preferred
